Ensure you stand out from the crowd. First impressions count, therefore it is important to invest time in getting your C.V. right.

Highlight your achievements and organise your information so that it maximises your strengths and creates a strong impression from the start. Make sure you include:

  • A summary of your capabilities and achievements
  • Your work experience (most recent first)
  • Your professional qualifications
  • Your education
  • Personal details that are relevant to your employment

Ensure that you are clear, concise and your layout is easy to follow. Remember, it will be used in your interview and is your first step in the door!


The Interview

Employers are impressed by those who show initiative. Insure that you:

  • Find out about the job itself
  • Research the job
  • Understand why you are suitable for the role
  • Identify the successes you have had in the relevant areas
  • Prepare examples of experience of your experience

Investigate the journey

  • Check your journey time
  • Ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes early
  • You only get one chance to create a first impression

Prepare your questions

  • Thoroughly research the company
  • Spend time identifying what they do and what their corporate objectives are
  • Prepare yourself for the interviewers’ questions
  • Make a list of questions you would like to ask
